Supporting Children, Families and Staff
CONSULTANTS ON STAFF
Sarah Belcher, MS, CCC-SLP, our Speech and Language Development Consultant visits several times per year, to offer insight regarding children whose teachers or parents have expressed concerns about their speech and language development. We value Sarah’s professional ear and knowledge.
Susan Lizotte, MS, OTR/L, our Occupational Therapy Consultant, visits classrooms on a scheduled basis, to offer her invaluable expertise and advice on teaching strategies and activities to benefit individual children and ALL GCS children by enhancing our school curriculum overall.
Amy Lovell-Kelly, BA MPA, consults with both GCS administration and staff on matters regarding language-based learning disabilities. She is a valuable resource if teachers have concerns regarding literacy development.
Katy Niose, our Kindergarten French Instructor, visits the Kindergarten Class once each week, sharing French language and culture. The children thoroughly enjoy learning a new language through Katy’s creative instruction, songs, and games.
COMMUNITY RESOURCES
In addition to on-site staff, the school works with a variety of consultants and community resources who act as guides in the areas of medicine, special education, crisis intervention, and mental health. We call upon the many qualified individuals for suggestions in making a proper referral. A list is available on our Family Login page, and upon request to guide GCS families.
