It was an amazing day at the MA Statehouse… Aqua Room children, families, teachers, and their good friend Milly Cunningham received a warm welcome from Governor Baker, Lt. Governor Polito, and their staff on the Grand Staircase!!
The meeting was arranged in honor of the collaboration between Master Quilter Milly and the Aqua Room Class in designing and creating yet another beautiful quilt! Their 3rd quilting project was inspired by a “Peace Book” dictated and illustrated by the children. Milly’s incredible artistry and quilting expertise provides a “window” on the children’s visions for Peace.
It was so wonderful that classroom teachers, Heidi, Naomi, and Katy could be there, and we were thinking of Sarah, too, at this proud moment, along with so many GCS families who made an adventure of traveling to Boston with their children.
Thank you to the Governor’s office for being so gracious in hosting GCS families, friends, and teachers, and to Milly for her friendship and dedication to children. Groton Community School is very proud of you, Jennie, along with the Aqua Room Class, and the message of teaching Peace that we hold so dear school-wide. Thank you for being such amazing ambassadors for Early Childhood Education, Groton Community School, and “Peace”!
