Dear Community Members,
On November 18, 2017, Groton Community School hosted its 13th annual Groton Community Home Tour. The event was, by all measures, a wonderful success, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank those who contributed to that success.
We are so grateful to the homeowners who graciously opened their homes to our attendees. Without their generosity, there would be no Home Tour.
Our gratitude also goes out to the artisans and vendors who sold their items both at the school and in the homes, the advertisers in our program guide, the generous local businesses and families that contributed gift cards and prizes to the chance table, and the GCS families, friends, staff, and board members who dedicated so much of their time and talents to this event.
We would especially like to acknowledge this year’s sponsors for their commitment and generosity: Babin Landscaping, Webster Bank, Platt Builders, 360 Gymnastics, Z Master Builders, The Catalano Companies/Dunkin Donuts who provided coffee and donuts to attendees, and Lavender of Groton who provided stunning floral arrangements in each of the homes.
We owe a special thank you to Salt & Light Bistro Cafe as well, for its contribution toward the delicious lunches offered to our attendees. Our appreciation goes out to our ticket outlets: Kimball Farm in Westford, Lavender in Groton, and FACETSetc in Groton. We would also like to thank Jane Bouvier and “Around Town” for their help in publicizing the Home Tour event again this year.
The Groton Community Home Tour began in 2004 and has become Groton Community School’s largest fundraiser. The event truly evokes a community feel, with its inclusion of local homeowners, families, businesses, and attendees from Groton and surrounding towns. Thanks to the support of our patrons and all who were involved, the 2017 event raised approximately $24,000 and hosted well over 400 attendees. Our fundraising efforts are essential to the school’s operations, as proceeds are used to bridge the gap between tuition and actual expenses. These funds directly aid the school’s commitment to give children opportunities to explore and discover their world in an atmosphere of acceptance and cooperation. The school’s mission to provide the most positive first school experience has never seemed more important.
Thank you for your continued support of Groton Community School, and we hope you can join us Saturday, November 17th for the 2018 Groton Community Home Tour!
Kind regards,
Heather Spinney-Laidlaw
